Physical health
Teenagers had concerns about their physical health in lockdown.
Some were feeling anxious about contracting COVID-19, especially when they had health conditions that meant they were at greater risk of negative effects.
Some were also finding it hard to care for their physical health, describing how the stressfulness of the situation meant that they weren’t taking care of themselves physically (eg not exercising, oversleeping, or getting into unhealthy eating habits).
As education settings continue to put different procedures in place to help follow restrictions and limit the spread of COVID-19, it will be important to work with teenagers to ensure they have a voice in the steps taken and fully understand how they are being protected.
